"Our Shadow and Spirituality"

First of All, we all at some point in our psychological development have;- thought what you read or heard,seen etc. as;

                                                                    " concrete actual  fact "

And here Carl Jung writings,theories ,or one of them is being compared to looked at by Jordan Peterson. (below)

A Definitive Guide to Shadow Work: How to Contact, Get to Know, and Integrate Your Dark Side

by Scott Jeffrey

What is the Shadow?

The shadow is the “dark side” of our personality because it consists chiefly of primitive, negative human emotions and impulses like rage, envy, greed, selfishness, desire, and the striving for power.

Looking at the above, though you also see a Human being developing, along the culture as a whole, we all have been angered,yet if one is maturing/ becoming more spiritually constantly, all the negative aspects have to be known,dealt with,-not feared,hidden away- .

I like where Peterson above talks of Meek.  pointing to Fact; original meaning being Greek,it's true meaning.

(However, we cut ourselves off from many of our best qualities too. I cover the “positive shadow” in a separate guide on psychological projection.)

-------------Call it once again stepping back "creating a Scenario "--------------------------------

Let's say for example "the Shadow" is a form of collective memory of our Ancient past, of sorts, all the forgotten,yet due to to the fact that Human history, has had many moments of a not only great ,beautiful events, yet as well as ugly, negative events, because the negative over shadow our "Shadow self " or is it more our touch into (Collective unconscious, a term coined by Carl Jung, refers to structures of the unconscious mind which are shared among beings of the same species. According to Jung, the human collective unconscious is populated by instincts and by archetypes: universal symbols such as the Great Mother, the Wise Old Man, the Shadow, the Tower, Water, the Tree of Life, and many more.)

        As from my view point you could say we are part of a Great Being,a Whole, I simply call Nature/ God. so why would we Not

        have access to these Ideas/thoughts as part of our "Instincts / Collective unconscious "-me

excerpt from Scott Jeffery's;

The ancient Greeks understood the need to honor all of the parts of the psyche. For them, these parts were worshiped as autonomous gods and goddesses.

The Greeks knew a god or goddess you ignored became the one who turned against you and destroyed you.

as Symbolic forms, I believe-me

excerpt from Scott Jeffery's;

How Psychological Projection Works

Essentially, it goes like this: starting in early childhood, we begin psychically cutting off parts of ourselves.

We separate from our best parts of ourselves like courage, generosity, and compassion.

And we disidentify with our worst parts like envy, pettiness, and rage.

We cut off from anything that we can’t find a way to integrate. In so doing, we divorce ourselves from anything that doesn’t get acceptance or approval from our environment including our parents, teachers, family, and friends.

We strive to become, in a sense, “normal,” average. Desperately wanting to fit in during childhood and adolescence, we seek the middle.

Not our middle, but the middle of our social groups and society itself.

And our school systems, sadly, support this surgery of the soul. These systems are highly effective at stripping away our innate genius, those qualities that push us far away from any “average.”

But we can’t really cut off parts of ourselves. I mean, where are they going to go, really?

When you get irritated at your colleague’s selfishness at work, you are observing his selfishness. But your irritation is a result of not owning your own selfishness.

Otherwise, you wouldn’t get irritated. You would see your colleague’s selfishness and immediately acknowledge the selfish part in you. (Because we are all mirrors for each other.)

I agree; to the degree, if one uses the Word "irritated" in proper context, that is say someone I am working with,we are building something together, at end of day, the boss arrives, this other person tells boss that he did most the work, or by someone thru their selfish ways causes a danger, to myself and others. Yet at one time ,I might of snapped yell at this person, I am more likely now to laugh at them, if real bad, ask never to work with them again,---I have Learned to walk away, and cool down------

            I learned to over-come jealous long ago, then envy, I do know in my Alcoholism, I was selfish, as all addictions hold a                           commanding degree of being Selfish.

            Yet for example,if some one at work is better at something then I, I don't get jealous, I admire,and Learn from them,even if
               they are a selfish,ego-manic person.

            A fly,a bug can irritate, is it being selfish?

            Let's say a nice looking young black guy works at a Hotel with me,as do many other females and males, I find him attractive,               and he and I talk a lot,like each other as people, I have already told him I am Berdache type(feminine sexually 100%), he is                 100% straight, yet has let me "fellatio" him and has boned me.Say one of the females is always flirting with him.and they                     start dating ,having sex, I can't be jealous, I have to accept reality!

If one reads; "Patterns of Culture" by Ruth Benedict, one will see they where quite aware of the " shadow side ", and how beautifully    their culture worked with it. And why in part Albert Einstein wrote this;

When considering the actual living conditions of present day civilized humanity from the standpoint of even the most elementary religious commands, one is bound to experience a feeling of deep and painful disappointment at what one sees. For while religion prescribes brotherly love in the relations among the individuals and groups, the actual spectacle more resembles a battlefield than an orchestra. Everywhere, in economic as well as in political life, the guiding principle is one of ruthless striving for success at the expense of one's fellow. men. This competitive spirit prevails even in school and, destroying all feelings of human fraternity and cooperation, conceives of achievement not as derived from the love for productive and thoughtful work, but as springing from personal ambition and fear of rejection.

"There are pessimists who hold that such a state of affairs is necessarily inherent in human nature; it is those
who propound such views that are the enemies of true religion, for they imply thereby that religious teachings are utopian ideals and unsuited to afford guidance in human affairs. The study of the social patterns in certain so-called primitive cultures, however, seems to have made it sufficiently evident that such a defeatist view is wholly unwarranted. Whoever is concerned with this problem, a crucial one in the study of religion as such, is advised to read the description of the Pueblo Indians in Ruth Benedict's book, Patterns of Culture. Under the hardest living conditions, this tribe has apparently accomplished the difficult task of delivering its people from the scourge of competitive spirit and of fostering in it a temperate, cooperative conduct of life, free of external pressure and without any curtailment of happiness." -
Albert Einstein

Yes it is Irritated by Humanity, in it's views on " shadow aspects", one being "group think", thinking our culture is better, thus losing a vitual aspect of "Learned behavior that really worked" as below;

For example; If you read "Patterns of Culture", and pay Attention, which at the speed society moves today(in a hurry to get where),

                                                        "Makes it tough- a trap we've created, we must escape"

            You will Clearly see in Patterns of Culture, that these peoples have been very intune with Carl Jung's idea of Anima and Animus(feminine/masculine) aspects of the Human traits in the individual, and knew well of it 100's if not 1000's of years, before Jung was born.

             They very much knew of the Ego

             The Anger,jealous,hateful,aggressive aspects; that the Individual would in their lives would experienced,                                              They embodied,faced it thus, lived in Harmony as best a Human being can now or could then. We can have the chance to                  adapt,refine old to new.

            The Zuni peoples clearly accepted people like myself "Androgynous,berdache,fem-male types" and the varations of ;

               like myself, - being physically able to hunt, fight,work as the masculine men (straight/animus), and willing to submit to be in                  the female role sexually, I would have been a substitude female on hunting trips etc.(for myself feeling "slutty",was a factor I                had to content with; especially after first time a group of guys "boned me" in one night at a party.) - a Shadow aspect

             However my "First Contact" was what I hid, away nearly forgotten, not so much that it happened,as I tried to tell myself,                      " I was young, kids do such things",  the part about I greatly felt that was my true role by instinct, "how could I accept that I                    am a male that desires to have sex, as if though I am a female ?" this took much time to accept as a older adult.

                                                       Opposing Forces of Our Mind

Finding The Balance in Opposing Forces

            " We can let the circumstances of our lives harden us so that we become increasingly resentful and afraid, or we can let them                      soften us and make us kinder and more open to what scares us. We always have this choice."  ~ Pema Chodron

At this time it is helpful to keep in mind or be aware of Cognitive dissonance

, as it is opposing forces in our minds

As is ; Gender dysphoria

The bible refers to it;       This is Telling, simply all it is, wise words if one understands, yet even the words must be explained

                                                         to understand , to realize what one will encounter along the road to achive such a state of ;

                                                                                       - Being-

                                                    A person may remember these words by Heart, yet what does that mean, if never taught how to;

                                                                                       - fly by them-

     Yet here is a example of How the bible tells, Yet hasn't taught, as well as is un-realistic, yet if the "Church", could start Teaching         -verse- just Telling, reading from a book is just the start, one must be shown

My belief is one can pray,talk all you want, yet if you don't learn to do, it is useless chatter.

                                                                     One Spirirt and Flesh are One   (we only got one brain per person)

                  Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to one another, so that you do not do what you want.But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

                  The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; 20idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, 21and envy; drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. - (fear based)
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no Law.
24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.-
Living in the Spirit
(Galatians 5:16-26)

                                            Let me tell you in a comparison;   -of Telling verse Teaching-

                                  I learned how to fly airplanes years ago, this took much time to learn, much class room training, we had a                                              Flight simulator we trained in, then the actual in aircraft flying with the instructor, the actual physical aspect of

                                     flying is "if you can drive a car,you can fly a plane", however the mental aspects,the Wisdom,is similar more to

                                     the complexities of living. One must be constantly be aware of weather, altitude, other aircraft, where you are.

                                     fuel,attitude of plane, stall speed, performance ability of the aircraft (take off / landing distance, climb rate etc)

                                                             You don't learn this by reading a book and listening to someone Talk

                                                                                     verse Living a Life.

                                                             We must be not Told, We must be Shown and taught how to Live

What other Opposing Forces are there ?

          One might be the Good Wolf/Bad Wolf concept;

excerpts from Trinity mind which is worth looking at;

Subconscious and Superconscious Mind = The Unseentop_of_the_iceberg-852x480

The subconscious and unconscious mind, however, are not so clear.

If the conscious mind are like honored recognized warriors, the subconscious is akin to an untamed beast who lurks in the shadows. And the superconscious is the light which guides the warrior.

Subconscious and superconscious mind accounts for 95-99% of our mental life. It is the part of our mind beneath awareness.

Is it any wonder that man is not in control of his life? He is influenced by the environment, by outside’s moods and desires, by stronger people, by his own desires, by his genes, and by what he reads. None of this we are consciously aware of.

The Freudian Iceberg is a great example of the seen realm and the unseen realm – where only a small portion is visible compared to the invisible.

The Superconscious Mind = Intuitive Mind

Our superconscious mind is the awareness that sees the subjective and objective reality, and even beyond.

It is also known as Higher Self or Higher Mind.

We receive our intuition, inspiration, and sense of morality and wisdom from our superconscious mind.

Our Minds can be compared to "Meanderings of Rivers"

Einstein, fluid dynamics, and the beautiful mathematics of nature;-brainpickings.org

                       Pi and the Meandering Paths of Rivers

               “Rivers run through our civilisations like strings through beads,” Olivia Laing wrote in her stunning meditation on life, loss, and the meaning of rivers. “There is a mystery about rivers that draws us to them, for they rise from hidden places and travel by routes that are not always tomorrow where they might be today.” But this chaotic, civilization-strewing mystery may be underpinned by one of the most elemental mathematical truths of nature.

                                                     A thunderstorm, or winds on a tree,is bends or it breaks

                  Always some opposing force which creates action or need for. and We are a part of Nature, as a Tree
